The introduction of a new online system could see intermediaries offering Kensington mortgage products able to make a decision about an application faster.

Head of sales and product development at the firm Charles Morley explained that E-KWIP - which stands for Electronic-Kensington Web Intermediary Portal - makes the process easier for industry professionals to carry out.

He stated that the company is looking forward to rolling out the system further in the future and claimed it is no surprise it has so far proved to be popular with clients.

"What is particularly pleasing is how robust the system has proven to be, which means we have been able to continue the roll-out to appointed representatives more quickly than we had anticipated," added Mr Morley.

Last week, Kensington altered its residential mortgage product range to offer higher loan to value on certain arrangements and lower interest rates on others, such as its two and three-year fixed-rate deals.
