An online mortgage resource has been launched by the Association of Residential Lettings Agents (ARLA) specifically for landlords and the buy-to-let market.

The free comparison site has been created in conjunction with sister products ICBA Mortgages for the commercial property sector and NAEA Mortgages for residential purchases.

Prospective house buyers will be able to enter their information and payment needs online and they will be given the closest matches to their specifications.

Ian Potter, operations manager at ARLA, said the facility was created following requests from its customers.

"It is essential that full information is available to a borrower in order that they can make an informed decision in connection to the potential of their purchase," he added.

The group recently expressed concerns for the growth of the property market following the release of the latest repossession statistics from the Council of Mortgage Lenders, stating that government controls to help the families meet their mortgage payments were still needed.
