Yorkshire Building Society has announced it is to make a new range of products available to those looking to take out their first mortgage.

Three deals with a loan-to-value of up to 85 per cent have been made available in the new fixed-rate range, with a two-year product offering a rate of 5.39 per cent.

The two further products are a three-year mortgage with a rate of 5.69 per cent and a 5.89 per cent rate, which has been made available on a five-year deal.

All of the loans have been specifically designed to minimise the cost of accessing a deal for first time-buyers by providing free valuation and legal fees, plus £500 cashback.

Tom Girling, product manager for mortgages at the building society, said: "We aim to make home buying as stress-free and affordable as it can be and we'll even help the buyer to find a solicitor."

These new products follow on from cuts that were made to the mortgages in the building society's range earlier this month, as it plans to make its products more competitive to increase its market share.
